Update the video storage device's software (firmware)
This is a guide on how to update your video storage device software to the latest version.
Step 1. Check model designation and download software
- Check the model number of your video storage device. You can find the model number on the back of a silver tag as shown by the arrow below (location may differ slightly between devices).
- Download the latest software (firmware) to your computer
- You can find secure software here
Step 2. Install the software
- Log in to your video storage device (guides on how to do so are available here)
Depending on the device you have, it looks a little different, therefore this section is divided into three parts
A. Video storage device with the model designation AVH1109, AVH8516, AVH517
B. Video storage device (NVR) of different model than above
C. Video storage device (DVR/TVR/XVR)
A. Video storage device with the model designation AVH1109, AVH8516, AVH517
- Log in to your NVR device and click on "Menu" (guide on how to log in is available here)
- Click on "Upgrade" under maintenance in the left column
- Select the file you downloaded in step 1
- Click on "Send/Submit"
- Select "Yes" when asked if you want to save the configuration
- Now install the new software and after a while the device will be up and running again so you can see your surveillance (the device will reboot)
B. Video storage device (NVR) of a model other than in Part A
- Log in to your NVR device and click on "System" (guide on how to log in is available here)
- Click on Tools in the left column and select the file you downloaded in step 1
- Click on "Submit"
- When asked if you want to keep your current configuration, select "Yes".
- Now install the new software and after a while the device will be up and running again so you can see your surveillance (the device will reboot)
C. Video storage device (DVR)
- Log in to your DVR and click on "Configuration" in the top left corner (guide on how to log in is available here)
- Click on "Configure" at the bottom of the left column
- Select the file you downloaded in step 1
- Click on "Upgrade"
- When asked if you want to keep your current configuration, select "Yes".
- Now install the new software and after a while the device will be up and running again so you can see your surveillance (the device will reboot)
